Languages which are considered for automatic translation:
- Dutch
- English
- French
- German
- Italian
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
If a user creates CRs in a language which is supported by DeepL, it will no longer be mandatory to provide these CRs also in English language. This will make the creation of CRs easier and userfriendly as users will be able to create their CRs for example only in their native language (if supported by DeepL) and English and the other languages will be filled automatically.
In order to make the translation quality for the users transparent in the system a new attribute at the structure element will be introduced. The so-called Translation Quality Level (TQL) indicates the language level of the Proposer or whether the language content was automatically translated by the system. In order to enable this TQL, the Proposer has once to provide in his personal CDP profile his language level (Native or Non-Native) for his used languages. Automatic translated content will have the indicator “DeepL”.
The Translation Service will be published in the CDP Prod System as soon as possible, at the latest to the CR Submission phase of Release 12.0 (August / November 2020).
DeepL is also currently working on integrating Japanese and Chinese into their Translation Service. With less effort on eCl@ss side this will also be available for automatic translation in eCl@ss CDP. This also applies to future languages.
