TransferPortal is a web-based application for facilitation and retrieval of standardized and valid article data in form of catalogues. Currently the application focuses on the needs of users within the healthcare sector (health centre, buying syndicates). Exchanged are master data, logistics data, classifications and media data. GS1 XML CIN and BMEcat are the data exchange standards as well as Excel as a Quasi-standard. Classification supports eCl@ss with classifications and features.

It tells its own tale. Since the end of the initial trial, there are more than 200 catalogues, more than 2.5 million articles and more than 1.5 million GTIN identifications available within.  If nothing else this is justified by the concept of TransferPortal, which is available to the market as a brand of Class.Ing Software GmbH & Co. KG. “We sought to provide a supplier and user independent solution, which is based on standards and which can be operated by both sides on a small budget,“ says Frank Scherenschlich, owner and managing director of Class.Ing.

The supplier is able to provide his article catalogue to many users. Within TransferPortal, Supplier and User will see the exact data. “TransferPortal is a good way to provide the market with consistent product data. Data is provided untouched,” says Andrea Menning, Coloplast.

The user benefits also. Data is provided variously standardised and in individual export formats. A feature based search and an article comparison is available via an online catalogue. In addition, the data that can be download quickly, including an evaluation. “The TransferPortal is our source for article catalogues,” says André Karzauninkat, Head of IT at EK-UNICO GmbH.

Data evaluations and -validations are very important during this era of digitisation. TransferPortal has provided a basic evaluation of the data at the item and packaging level since its inception: The PreCheck. Additionally, data certificates displayed according to the IDDG ( Currently the last tests of comprehensive rules for the article validation COVIN carried out and version 1.1 will be supported; starting 2020.
